Themed Environment Fabrication, Healthcare Interiors & Therapeutic Simulation
Evergreen Creative partnered with the Hanger Clinic team in Rochester, MN, to fabricate and install a realistic faux park environment inside their newly renovated rehabilitation facility. The area was designed to help patients safely practice movement across varied terrain.
The space serves as a mobility training zone for individuals using prosthetic limbs, orthotics, or other assistive devices. Our team was tasked with bringing an outdoor scene indoors, transforming an otherwise clinical space into a naturalistic and emotionally encouraging environment.
Key fabrication components included:
Multi-Level Ramp System & Platform Structure
Custom-framed support system with curved accessibility ramps, ADA-compliant stairs, and durable surfacing engineered for repeatable walking practice and long-term use.Artificial Grass, Rocks & Ground Texture
Hand-shaped foam forms with naturalistic contours, coated and finished to resemble landscaped berms and hillsides. Faux boulders, gravel beds, and turf grass added tactile realism and aesthetic warmth.Faux Trees & Landscaping Elements
A curated set of realistic artificial trees (deciduous and evergreen) positioned to frame the space and reinforce the feel of an outdoor walking path.Faux Pond Feature with Rubberized “Water” Surface
A smooth, curved walking zone finished in colored rubber to emulate a shoreline and test balance on soft, uneven surfaces.
All components were fabricated in our shop using carved foam, sealed MDF, plywood framing, and lightweight scenic materials. Elements were finished with hospital-safe coatings and assembled on site with careful attention to durability, cleanliness, and code compliance. While visually playful, the space was built with precision to support real patient outcomes.
